After week 2, it feels like the entire starting lineup for every team is on injured reserve. Well, it does if you’re a Broncos or 49ers fan, anyway. That’s okay, who needs a starting QB, right? By the end of the season I expect to be chugging whiskey from the bottle while I watch Blake Bortles get carted off.
The next section is about my team, so feel free to skip it.

When the Broncos signed Jeff Driskel, my first thought was “and why would we do that?” The only times I had seen him play he was awful (to be fair, so were the teams he was on). I was completely surprised to find out he was mostly competent against the Steelers except for taking a couple of stupid sacks, and had them in it up until the end. He did throw an interception, but he had put the ball right where Courtland Sutton should have had the catch and there happened to be a Steelers player right behind him to catch the deflection. And because this is 2020, Sutton tears his ACL trying to make the tackle. KJ Hamler looked great, and Jerry Jeudy hung in there even after taking a nasty crack to his ribs. If Melvin Gordon hadn’t let his man go free on that last 4th and 2, it could have been a much different ending. Today, they host the Buccaneers and Tom Brady. Guess which team Brady doesn’t have a winning record against? That’d be the Broncos. Even if his team wins today, his record against Denver can only go to .500. Unless something crazy happens like the Bucs and Broncos meeting in a Super Bowl, he’ll never get a chance to go up on them because they won’t face each other for another four years. So, allow me to make my insane prediction: Broncos win today. It’s really not that crazy. Brady is still feeling himself out with his new team. I honestly think his record to start the season ends up at 2-3 or 2-4 and then they finish 11-5 or 12-4. I saw the same thing happen with Peyton Manning in his first season when he came here. Don’t get me wrong, the Bucs can win this game, but combine the facts that these teams don’t know each other that well, the game won’t mean shit toward playoff positioning for either team because it’s an inter-conference game, and a good chance that Bucs players are seeing it as a ‘W’ and looking ahead, and it’s the best chance for the Broncos to beat a good team. (I’m fully aware of how wrong my predictions tend to be.)

Here in Denver we only get one CBS game and it’s early. Raiders at Patriots. The Raiders look better than I want them to, so I’m pulling for Cam to beat them down. I think I’ll be watching that one mostly, but over on Fox we have the Rams at the Bills. That sounds like a fun one, so I’ll probably be switching back and forth a lot. Then the late game is Bucs at Broncos of course. Sunday Night is Packers at Saints. I thought the Saints would be 2-0 at this point but they look a bit off. Michael Thomas being out doesn’t help. But it’s in New Orleans, so I don’t know that I can take the Pack. The team whose city has a two-word name will win. Monday Night Football... I can’t tell you how pissed off I am that now that I have cable they’ve started showing MNF on ABC again. You assholes. But hey, at least it’s a good one. Chiefs at Ravens. Go Ravens!
The rest:
Football Team at Famous Head Coach Team - They seem cut from the same cloth, kind of inconsistent. I think I’m gonna pick the Browns. Possibly just because I really am craving a brownie.
Texans at Steelers - Steelers. Unless the injury bug decides to start hitting them this week. No, I think I’ll still pick the Steelers even in that case.
49ers JV squad at Giants - 49ers.
Bengals at Eagles - If the Eagles can’t beat the Bengals at home, they’re screwed.
Titans at Vikings - Oh man. I think the Titans get this one, and the Vikes go 0-3. I’m sorry, Minnesotans, hearing you guys’ angry rants in your accent is hilarious, and that’s coming from a Yooper.
Bears at Falcons - It’s gonna get ugly if the Falcons lose. I’ll say they get it, because I don’t think anyone trusts Trubisky.
Jets at Colts - Colts win unless Rivers starts handing out picks. The Jets have a quick turnaround after this game to play Thursday against my Broncos in a game that’s sure to be watched by almost nobody. How long before Adam Gase gets fired if they don’t win one of the next two games?
Panthers at Chargers - Still pulling for Teddy Bridgewater. Come on, do us a favor and drop the Chargers.
Lions at Cardinals - I like Matt Stafford and it makes me sad that there will never be a good team around him. Cardinals.
Cowboys at Seahawks - I gotta go with the Seahawks. Russell Wilson is just too good.
What’s good with your team? Also, what should I have for lunch today?

Go Bills! They are out to an early lead and looking pretty good if they can shut down the Rams from running straight up the middle.

The Pats locker room won’t be comfortable at halftime after that late TD.
And my Bears have a shot at being the absolute worst 3-0 team in NFL history!

I didn’t expect it to be so lopsided!

No kidding. Plus the Raiders get the ball to start the 3rd.
I don’t have any comforting words about that. I’m the fan of a team that went 6-0 to start 2009, and finished 8-8 missing the playoffs. Can’t remember if this is still true , but I don’t think any other team has ever done that.

I tried to watch that when you posted about it yesterday, but I had trouble getting into it. I’ll definitely be giving it another shot, though.

Yikes. That sucks. You didn't also have Saquon Barkley, did you?

That was easily the most frustrating game I have ever watched. They won and I’m still slightly distraught

Just be glad you're not a Falcons fan right now.

The Bears have a long history of going 11-5 or 12-4 with shitty teams, then turning into pumpkins in the playoffs, so this is right in my wheelhouse actually.
We even made a Super Bowl with absolutely no offense at all.

Somehow I knew Matt Ryan was going to throw that pick before they snapped the ball.

Ryan has some receivers, but otherwise that’s a really bad team.

Turns out our practice squad is pretty good!
